Rushing the season

Galloway has it’s Christmas decorations up already! The main roads are lined with candy canes (at least with wooden one you won’t need to worry about having to read weight loss pill reviews). I think this is all just way too early. It used to be that decorations went up right after Thanksgiving. It’s like Thanksgiving is being pushed to the back burner.. forgotten.

Now Halloween things and Christmas things are vying for the shoppers attentions in stores. It’s crazy.. pretty soon we’ll be seeing Christmas decorations up in June. I guess it’s because of the economy that they are trying to rush the season and make their holiday sales. I’d just rather it went back to the old way. By the time Christmas gets here everyone will be tired of Christmas decorations, shows and music. I know I will!

Work related post

I work for a company that opens up temporary Halloween stores each year. We just finished setting up all of the utilities for the stores. This year we have over 600 across the country and in Canada. Each year, when they close down the stores, all of their equipment and left over stock goes into moving pods and are stored until the next season.

It’s a lot of hard work to orchestrate, set up, staff, stock and close down these stores every year. It’s a lot of aggravation too. I must be crazy because this is my 3rd year at this company. If it wasn’t for the great bunch of people I work with I probably would have not gone back for the 2nd year.

The season is getting underway

The Halloween store season is getting underway. I set up the 1st one today. It’s the 1st of many, many stores we are opening across the country. I don’t know if there will be any jobs in Atlanta but we will have a store in Valdosta, GA. We will have a lot of stores in Florida. Several in NJ, PA, NY and tons in Illinois.

I set up the utilities for a training store in Turnersville, NJ today. I got the phones, electric and gas all set up to be turned on the beginning of July. Most of our stores will be opening the end of August or beginning of September. Some of the store will convert to Christmas stores after the Halloween season.
