I had to go out this morning. I had to head to WaWa to get some bread. The traffic was fairly light, for a change, until I got close to a wholesale company. The traffic got very heavy… actually it was just about stopped.
There were a lot of police and fire vehicles going into the lot. I didn’t see any smoke or flames. I went on to the store and when I came back all the police and fire vehicles were gone. It had only been about 5 minutes. I’m guessing it was some kind of false alarm.

There have been an awful lot of house fires in the area since the beginning of the year. There have been a lot of them that were arson fires in the Philadelphia area. The rash of arson fires has been going on since the beginning of last year. I hope these people followed up on their insurance quotes and had good insurance.
There have been 3 or 4 house fires in Galloway that completely destroyed the houses. I don’t know what I would do if I suddenly found myself homeless. That has to be one of the worst feelings in the world. I hope that’s something that we or our family never have to go through.

A day or so before Christmas there was a fire in a home in a nearby town. They lost everything.. their Christmas presents, their LCD TV, clothes, food and even their pet cat perished from smoke inhalation.
They found out the cause was electrical and thank goodness no human lives were lost. I feel bad about the cat though.
Fire is the one thing I worry about the most. It’s a scary and devastating thing to have to live through.

Chattanooga, TN firefighters rescued several cats during a house fire that investigators say was probably caused by the cats. The fire appears to be accidental and most likely from a cat knocking over an unattended candle in the kitchen and not because of unattended fire pits.
Fire department spokesman said firefighters responded to an alarm and found a fire in the kitchen. No one was home but they found about 10 cats inside.
Some of the cats escaped but some showed signs of smoke inhalation. Firefighters used oxygen bottles and special masks to revive several of the cats.

This didn’t make the local news or newspaper but it was a big deal to me. Thursday I was at work and was called and informed that someone set a fire in front of the door to my condo. I rushed home to find a big burned spot and my front door had been kicked open by the fire department. You can read the rest of that story here.
I needed a whole new door which was finally put in about 4:30 pm by some very good men wearing their company logo shirts. It took them about 3 hours to remove the old door and put the new one in. They did a really good job. Now I have the best looking door in the building. With the old door you could see daylight through some of the gaps. I see no daylight coming through that door anywhere.. except when it’s opened!
