Yeah.. I’m still without employment. I’ve been out of work since I was laid off at the end of 2008. Unemployment ran out over a year ago and I haven’t been able to find a job. It’s not that I haven’t been trying…. the job market sucks!!
I’ve applied for or sent out resumes for a lot of jobs. I’ve had a few interviews but either I get a rejection letter or rejection email (which comes without even getting an interview). Either I’m too old (56) or over qualified. The younger, prettier ones get the jobs. The older, not so pretty ones get the shaft.
I want to carry my weight around here but I can’t without an income and I can’t bring in an income if no one will hire me. It’s a damn viscous circle that I just can’t seem to get out of!!

I just can’t find a job to save my soul. There is just nothing out there. I’ve even tried doing a sales job search and nada, zip, zilch, nothing.
I send out resumes and either I don’t hear a thing.. ever, get called for an interview and hear nothing or get rejection emails without even so much as an interview. How can you reject someone without even talking to them? How would they know if I’m not right for their company without a face-to-face? It’s no wonder people get discouraged and depressed. Depression has become so common lately.

I get a ton of spam (junk) emails. I get everything from work-at-home jobs to free seo software offers. My gmail automatically sends them to the spam folder. Sometimes legitimate emails end up in there and I have to check my spam folder to make sure it’s all spam.
I’ve had my gmail account for years now and that’s my main email account that I use for everything. I’ve had other accounts from different internet providers but I’ve moved so many times and have had many different internet providers that I just don’t use their email addresses for anything important. I can always access my gmail account anywhere I can get online.
