Decorated

I found a string of lights in a cabinet in this camper we live in and got an idea. I strung them along the slide out in the living room part and it worked nicely. I got out my snowman figurine and put that out too. Now it looks sort of Christmasy in here now. I don’t have a tree but that’s ok.

Hubby has been out plowing for basically over 24 hours and he’s still out. We had over 12 inches of snow by this morning. Now the sun is out but it’s still very cold and windy. With all the snow and stuff being tracked in here we’ll need to get a Ladybug vapor steam cleaner to get rid of the stains.

Hopefully hubby makes a lot of cash so maybe we can put a down payment/deposit on a place to live and get out of this camper!

Christmas is coming – review

snowmantkI was thrilled to receive a gorgeous crystal collectable snowman figurine to review. He is about 10 inches tall and has an opening in his belly with a lighted village inside. A train travels around the base.

He came packaged very well in a Styrofoam box and works on either 2 AA batteries or an ac adapter. Hubby saw him sitting on the counter when he came home from work and was thrilled. Hubby loves trains. I can’t wait until Christmas to get him set up and can watch him every day. He is so gorgeous and he’ll be a part of my Christmas decorations for many years to come.

The snowman is part of the Thomas Kinkade collection and has a silver name plaque on the base that says “Thomas Kinkade White Christmas”. The village is hand painted and is covered in pretty, glittering snow and the detail is just amazing. The snowman is “wearing” mittens and a scarf and it holding a lantern.

I included a short video so you can see the train going around the base. It’s so cool :)

I don’t know how we’re going to do it all

I mentioned, several times, how we need to find a place to live and that I’m still looking for a job (not having much luck). With all that said I don’t know how we are going to be able to get a house and with the holidays coming I don’t know how we are going to be able to afford to buy everyone holiday gifts.

We might be able to get 1 small thing for each of the kids but that will be about it. Hubby and I probably won’t be exchanging gifts but we have to get something for the grandkids.. at least. I love Christmas.. it’s my favorite time of year but I feel so bad when I can’t give everyone gifts like we used to. Hopefully things change, money-wise, before then.

What a shame

A day or so before Christmas there was a fire in a home in a nearby town. They lost everything.. their Christmas presents, their LCD TV, clothes, food and even their pet cat perished from smoke inhalation.

They found out the cause was electrical and thank goodness no human lives were lost. I feel bad about the cat though.

Fire is the one thing I worry about the most. It’s a scary and devastating thing to have to live through.

Rushing the season

Galloway has it’s Christmas decorations up already! The main roads are lined with candy canes (at least with wooden one you won’t need to worry about having to read weight loss pill reviews). I think this is all just way too early. It used to be that decorations went up right after Thanksgiving. It’s like Thanksgiving is being pushed to the back burner.. forgotten.

Now Halloween things and Christmas things are vying for the shoppers attentions in stores. It’s crazy.. pretty soon we’ll be seeing Christmas decorations up in June. I guess it’s because of the economy that they are trying to rush the season and make their holiday sales. I’d just rather it went back to the old way. By the time Christmas gets here everyone will be tired of Christmas decorations, shows and music. I know I will!
