Reading the newspaper has gotten very depressing. All the stories about how bad the economy is and how bad the job market is makes it hard to do any job searches. There are not a lot of jobs listed in the classifieds. Those that are listed have requirements that I just can’t meet.. such as: bi-lingual, experience as a legal secretary, etc.
I have sent a couple resumes to places I found but haven’t heard anything yet. But then again I just sent them within the last couple days. I hope something pans out here soon.

There has been a recall issued for Maclaren baby strollers. The recall involves approximately 1 million strollers due to reports of children’s fingertips getting amputated by a hinge on the strollers. The strollers in question were sold between 1999 and today.
The recall includes all Maclaren single and double umbrella strollers, and the word “Maclaren” is printed on the stroller. The models involved include Volo, Triumph, Quest Sport, Quest Mod, Techno XT, TechnoXLR, Twin Triumph, Twin Techno and Easy Traveler.
If you have one of these you should stop using the Maclaren stroller immediately, until you can get a repair kit. Maclaren will provide a hinge cover that can be ordered through its Web site. There is also a special phone number ((877) 688-2326).

What is it with the faking a disability appeal? I saw an news show where they exposed people who pretend to be disabled to collect disability insurance or worker’s comp. It showed one guy walking into his house using a cane and wearing a neck brace. Then a little later he walks out of his house carrying heavy suitcases and not wearing a neck brace anymore or using a cane. He then lifts those suitcases into the trunk of his car, hops into his car and drives off.
It’s people like that who make it hard for people who are really injured to get compensation. I was injured at work in 2001 and ended up having to go to court and all kinds of doctors in order to get the treatment I needed for my back. Unfortunately I had left work after I was injured, but luckily I had filed a report about the injury the day it happened. The place I worked for was trying to say I injured my back after I quit. I had a good lawyer and got the treatment I needed.

Hubby has on Fox News and so far there have been a lot of different lawyer commercials. I just saw one for Mesothelioma lawyers. I saw other commercials for other types of legal matters too.
Fox News is talking about health care reform right now. I really can’t stand to watch this show but hubby likes it. I can’t stand when people sit there and yell back and forth at each other like they do on this show. It’s no wonder kids yell and argue and don’t show any respect to anyone with shows like this on.
I’m really sick of watching news. All they talk about anymore is Michael Jackson and Sonia Sotomayor. They also gripe and complain about what the president is doing or not doing.
Give me a show that will make me laugh any day.

There is a mall, not too far from here, that isn’t getting a lot of business anymore. It had 2 anchor stores, Boscov’s and Circuit City. Circuit City went out of business and with the economy being so bad there aren’t a lot of shoppers. Boscov’s has closed a lot of stores too.
There is a TGI Friday’s too but I don’t know how much business they get anymore. I went past that mall a few days ago and there weren’t a lot of cars in the parking lot.
Years ago Sears was the anchor store in that mall but they moved to a larger store in a bigger mall. This mall was always crowded and seemed to be the place to go for anything you needed. Now it’s beginning to look like a ghost town.
