Yard Sale and other stuff

No.. I didn’t have a yard sale but I stopped at one today. They had a lot of great stuff but I didn’t buy a thing.. not even one of the cool Custom flash drives they had there. I just don’t want to spend any money on anything that’s not necessary right now.

I did the laundromat thing and got all our clothes clean, I stopped at that yard sale and browsed for a little while. I saw some baby clothes (that’s why I stopped) but they were for a girl. Then I went on to Shoprite in Absecon (big mistake). It was so crowded at the deli department. There were a ton of people there and 4 people working behind the counter. It was moving along pretty good and then I looked up and only 2 people were behind the counter. I don’t know where the other 2 went off to. I stood there waiting for about 45 minutes to get waited on. When I 1st got there they were on number 8 and I had number 22.

Then I get the rest of the few things I had to pick up except for some pet hair remover thing I saw on TV…. I couldn’t find it in the cleaner aisle or the pet aisle. I know the Shoprite in Galloway had it but I’ll have to there another day. I had cold stuff and didn’t want to go in and fight the crowds for just 1 thing.

I went to the self check-out (15 items or less) and there was a woman in front of me with a whole lot more than 15 items. The girl on duty told her the next time to go through one of the other lines when she has so much stuff because she was pissing off the people behind her. Then the girl told me she’s gone through the express line with over $100 in groceries before and she’s been told not to do it again… but she evidently doesn’t listen very well.

I finally got home over 3 hours after I left today. I’m tired now!

The sun is shining

The sun just came out and the camper is nice and comfortable. It’s windy and I see some kid’s toys blowing down the street. Andi, Drew and Aunt Laurie went to the casino for breakfast and should be back in a little while to pick up Benton.

We live about 5 miles from Atlantic City where all the casinos are and Laura like to go there often. They went the other night for dinner and I babysat then too.

Oh boy.. sounds like baby boy is awake… I have to cut this short!

Speaking of jobs

Andi has been looking for a job since she got back here. She had one interview but no job offers yet. She’s done everything except for doing an Oakland Job Search. She really wants to get a job in health care but so far no bites.

Drew is looking for a job too. He’s a heavy equipment/diesel mechanic (US Army trained). He just got here last week so he’s just starting his job search.

I’ve been out of work since December 2008 and have sent so many resumes out that I’ve lost count. I’ve gotten a few interviews but never any job offers.

There has to be something out there for us somewhere and as soon as we get jobs and save a little money we are either going to find a house to rent or even possibly buy. We found a program for 1st time homebuyers that seems like a good deal and since we haven’t owned a house in over 3 years we qualify as 1st time homebuyers again.

Keep your fingers crossed for us that we all find jobs and a home!

Babysitting

I’m babysitting Benton today for a little while. He’s been asleep since 9am and I’ve been surfing the web. I went to Realtor.com and looked at some houses (dreaming/window shopping), checked out some term life insurance quotes (although we already have life insurance), looked for a job, houses for rent, etc.

Benton is sleeping peacefully and dreaming. I hear him making cute little noises in his sleep. He’s such a good baby.

After they get back I have to go to the laundromat and the grocery store. I really hate having to take the clothes out to wash them.. I could use the brother in law’s washer and dryer but it’s the weekend and I’m sure it’s in use so I’ll suck it up and take the clothes for a ride in the car.

I don’t know how we’re going to do it all

I mentioned, several times, how we need to find a place to live and that I’m still looking for a job (not having much luck). With all that said I don’t know how we are going to be able to get a house and with the holidays coming I don’t know how we are going to be able to afford to buy everyone holiday gifts.

We might be able to get 1 small thing for each of the kids but that will be about it. Hubby and I probably won’t be exchanging gifts but we have to get something for the grandkids.. at least. I love Christmas.. it’s my favorite time of year but I feel so bad when I can’t give everyone gifts like we used to. Hopefully things change, money-wise, before then.
