There is a mall, not too far from here, that isn’t getting a lot of business anymore. It had 2 anchor stores, Boscov’s and Circuit City. Circuit City went out of business and with the economy being so bad there aren’t a lot of shoppers. Boscov’s has closed a lot of stores too.
There is a TGI Friday’s too but I don’t know how much business they get anymore. I went past that mall a few days ago and there weren’t a lot of cars in the parking lot.
Years ago Sears was the anchor store in that mall but they moved to a larger store in a bigger mall. This mall was always crowded and seemed to be the place to go for anything you needed. Now it’s beginning to look like a ghost town.

Andi left Texas about an hour and a half ago. She’s got a long drive ahead of her. I don’t envy her at all. That is a long, hellish trip, especially with her being 6 1/2 months pregnant and having 2 young boys to deal with. The boys pretty much behave but at times they can drive you crazy. I know this because hubby and I made the trip to Texas in January to take the boys down to her.
There’s not much to do on a long trip like that except to read nuphedra reviews, look at the scenery (how many cows and horses can you stand to look at in one trip?) and nap.
She doesn’t know what time she’ll stop for the night or exactly when she’ll arrive but I can’t wait to see her again!

I’ve been watching the ID Channel today and there are a lot of sick people in the world. The show that just ended was about a man who was married and had 3 children. He killed his wife and 3 children and tied them to rocks and threw them in the bay in Oregon. Then he fled to Mexico and told everyone he was a reporter with the Times. He contacted the reporter, after he was arrested, and wrote him letters, called him on the phone telling him all about his life stopping short of admitting the killings. He did admit in court that he killed his wife and youngest child but said that his wife had killed the other two children. The reporter wrote a book about his contact with this man.
This one I’m watching now is about a guy who would kidnap young women, tie them up with duct tape and rape them within sight of homes along streets. They found all kinds of paraphernalia in his truck like Viagara, rope, and duct tape. They found everything but the best diet pills. He kept 2 girls tied in the back of his truck for hours and hours. He duct taped their boyfriends before taking the girls.
These shows are very interesting and I love watching them.

I remember several years ago reading a news article about someone who was bedridden and was so large and needed to go to the hospital. They were too large to fit through the door and they had to either cut a hole in the wall or enlarge the door frame to get this person out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a “fatty hater”, I just don’t understand how someone could let themselves get so big when there are so many things that can help you lose weight. There is diet and exercise, extreme weight loss pills, stomach stapling or gastric banding.
I understand that some people eat when stressed but my goodness how much stress does one person have to be under to eat themselves into certain death? It has to be so humiliating to be so large that you can’t get through a doorway.
My own mother is about 5′ 2″ tall and weighs over 200 lbs. She gets out of breath just walking across the room. Her bones can’t support the weight very well and her back and knees bother her. She has a hard time getting up out of a chair without a struggle. She’s 89 years old and has been big for the last half of her life. She says she just has big bones. Denial is another thing that contributes to her weight. I just know that I never want to get that big.

I had to go out this morning. I had to head to WaWa to get some bread. The traffic was fairly light, for a change, until I got close to a wholesale company. The traffic got very heavy… actually it was just about stopped.
There were a lot of police and fire vehicles going into the lot. I didn’t see any smoke or flames. I went on to the store and when I came back all the police and fire vehicles were gone. It had only been about 5 minutes. I’m guessing it was some kind of false alarm.
