Yesterday I was sitting here at my computer when I heard a loud bang that sounded like someone threw something at my door. I opened the door and no one was there but there was a package on the floor in front of the door. It was so loud that my neighbor across the hall heard it too and came out to see what happened. The package contained my contacts. Good thing they weren’t the old type that were made out of glass!
The post office knows not to leave packages if no one is home because there have been a lot of stolen packages. I personally have had 2 packages stolen. Thank goodness none of them contained any jewelry. One was a webcam and the other was a wireless optical mouse.
I went to the post office this morning to pick up my mail and spoke to a supervisor about this. Evidently it was a substitute mail person who should have known about this. The supervisor was going to speak to the guy about this.
Those “substitute mail persons” sure get around. Anytime I’ve ever complaineed about anything to the post office, wherever I have lived it was always the fault of a “substitute mail person”. Curious, no?
