Medical travel

This is a travel post of sorts. When we go to our family doctor for our check ups he sends us to an outside clinical laboratory service. He used to do all of the lab stuff in his office. He’s changed the way things are done and now we have to make 2 co-pays (one for the doctor and one for the lab) instead of just one. Then there is the travel involved too. More fuel used and a longer distance to travel between the doctor and the lab.

With the price of fuel and the 2 co-pays a doctor visit costs about $100 now. I wish things would go back to the way they were years ago when gas cost under 50 cents a gallon and a doctor visit cost only a couple dollars. (I can dream… can’t I?)

Don’t forget to keep track of those miles traveled for medical purposes. If you itemize deductions on your tax returns you get to include them!
