(click for bigger) Most of our 2nd day of our trip driving to Texas was cloudy and rainy. At one point we saw this really dark cloud. Well we thought it was a cloud until we got closer. It turned out to be a huge flock of birds and they were all just flying around and around in basically one spot. I’m sure glad we were in the car. I’d would have hated to have been outside underneath those birds. I don’t think that would be the best acne treatment to get (joking).
I kept watching as we drove down the road and those birds were just flying around and around. There must have been something in that area that really caught their attention. I’ve never seen so many birds at one time. It reminded me of the 1963 Alfred Hitchcock movie “The Birds“. It was eerie!

(click for bigger) We were following this tow truck that was towing the cab of an 18 wheeler. We figured it had broken down and was being towed to a garage. As we got up closer to it we could see that it was burnt… it was toast!
It looked like the trailer it was carrying might have caught fire and burned the back of the cab. I wonder what kind of cargo it was carrying. Was is computer equipment, hazardous materials, used cisco equipment or farm animals.
I just hope the driver got out safely. I hear of so many things like this that didn’t turn out well (someone died). It had to have been a scary thing to experience.

Stopping at an interstate restroom can be an experience. It can either be good (like most) or it can be bad.
On our way to Texas we stopped at one that was beyond bad. It was horrible! Most of the bulbs in the bathroom lighting was either burned out or missing all together. There was graffiti all over the walls, the floors were dirty and it smelled so bad I was gagging. If I hadn’t had to go so bad I would have made hubby keep driving until we found another place to stop.
Most of the restrooms in the rest areas were very clean. I don’t know why that one was so bad. The rest of the rest area was very nice and inviting looking. They say looks can be deceiving and they’re right. Hubby said the men’s room wasn’t bad at all. I guess it’s just the ladies that used the ladies room were pigs.
I held my breath the entire time I was in there, which was only for a minute or two. Can you say power peeing?

Back on April 19th I did a post on the price of gas. That was the last time I put gas in my car (I don’t use the car too much right now as I’m not working). Today I went and put $30 worth of gas in the car. The price per gallon has jumped from $3.17 to $3.45. At this rate a lot of people will have muscle growth in their legs from doing a lot more walking!
Tomorrow I’ll be using some more of that precious substance because I’ll be going about an hour away (one way) to visit my mom and today we have to drive about a half hour (one way) to go look at some new living room furniture. I’ll have to put more gas in before 2 weeks are up this time.
They need to make a pill that you just drop into a tank of water and it turns into gasoline. I wish I were smart enough to figure out how to do that. It sure would be a whole lot cheaper!

Camping is a fun thing to do. You get away from the hustle and bustle of the every day life and relax and enjoy the peace and quiet for a few days. You can either rent a cabin, pitch a tent or go luxury in a camper or motorhome. Which ever way you choose you’ll still need your bbq grill, food and other necessities.
If you choose to rent a cabin most likely it will have either cots or cheap beds and not too much else. If you choose to pitch a tent then you’ll be sleeping either on a cot or using sleeping bags. Camping by camper or motorhome you’ll get to sleep on a nice foam mattress.
I haven’t camped in a tent, but I’ve been in a cabin, a camper and a motorhome. If I had my choice it would be motorhome… hands down. I love getting away from it all but I still like the comforts of home.
