Philadelphia Zoo

The Philadelphia Zoo is located in Philadelphia, PA off of the Schuylkill Expressway (I-76). This zoo is the 1st zoo in America and it opened on July 1, 1874 and had 813 animals. Today the zoo has over 1300 animals, many that are rare and endangered. The zoo is open every day , except for Thanksgiving, December 24, 25 and 31, January 1, and the second Thursday in June.

From March 1 through November 30 the ticket prices are: $17.95 for an adult, $14.95 for children 2-11, children under 2 are free. From December to February the winter prices are $12.95 for adults and children 2-11, children under 2 are still free. When the zoo first opened the prices were: .50 for adults and .10 for children and those prices remained the same for the next 50 years.

The zoo also rents wheelchairs and strollers so if you have fibromyalgia you can visit the zoo in comfort.
