To go along with the post below I was just remembering some of the motels we stayed at on those early trips to Florida. They were small mom & pop operations with no frills what-so-ever. I remember going to open a drawer to put some clothes away and one of the cabinet knobs came off in my hand! They were ok, and thinking back upon it now, they weren’t exactly the cleanest places but at 2 or 3 in the morning all you really see is the bed for about 5 seconds before you pass out for the night.

We survived those trips with no infections or infestations so I guess they weren’t all that bad. Just remember this was back in the 1970’s. Things were a whole lot different in those times.
