charlotteBack in June Lucy the Elephant had her howdah removed for repairs. According to the local newspaper she’s getting her howdah back today. Lucy, who is 126 years old, needed more work than was expected. The repairs dragged on for more than six months. Then once the work was finished, the weather wouldn’t cooperate to let the contractors put the top back. Today’s attempt is the third tentative date for reuniting Lucy and her howdah. Lucy the Elephant is at 9200 Atlantic Avenue in Margate, NJ.
I hope they had long enough ladders on their truck rack to get the job done.
