Canoing

» by User Imagecharlotte in: Uncategorized

Canoing along rivers in NJ is pretty popular in the warm months. Although the weather now is not favorable for canoing you can start planning a canoe trip for next year. Canoe trips are a great way to relax. Usually the rivers/streams go through the woodlands. You may come across some waterfront luxury homes here and there. But most of the trip would be though serene, peaceful areas.

To make canoing a good experience remember these rules:

1. Wear a life jacket.
2. Do not attempt a trip longer than you are capable of completing.
3. Wear old sneakers or river shoes.
4. DO NOT LITTER or destroy our beautiful forests and streams.
5. Carry extra dry clothing in a waterproof container.
6. Bring suntan lotion and insect repellent.
7. If you tip, keep upstream of canoe.

THINGS TO BRING

* Suntan lotion
* Insect repellent
* Sunglasses
* Old sneakers
* Straps for glasses
* Water-tight bags
* Change of clothing
* Length of rope to secure supplies
* Any necessary camping gear

Most of all have fun and relax!
