Atlantic City Aquarium

Atlantic City has an Aquarium. I didn’t know this until last night and I live just 7 miles from Atlantic City. It’s been there since May of 1999! I guess I need to start paying better attention!

Atlantic City Aquarium is located in Atlantic City’s Historic Gardner’s Basin at New Hampshire Ave. & the Bay, Atlantic City, NJ. The Atlantic City Aquarium has more than 100 varieties of fish and marine animals. The Aquarium’s eight tanks total 29,800 gallons of live exhibits. You’ll find the Fish of the New Jersey Coast Aquarium, which holds 23,000 gallons and has sea bass, lookdowns, sand tiger sharks, northern stingray, bluefish, weakfish, and kingfish. The 750-gallon Touch Tank allows you to handle green, horseshoes, hermit and spider crabs, sea urchins, seastars, common periwinkle, channel and knobbed whelk, horse and blue mussels, and common shore shrimp.
